aWIP Capitan Miniatures Competition Piece, Spanish Nap.

I don’t know how exactly this came about but I have ended up painting a competition piece for Capitan miniatures, Spanish line I believe. The figure came with three nice head variants and I ended up choosing this one you see here as it seemed to have a bit war weariness to it.

I pinned the head nodding slightly to add to the weary look of this old soldier. There was a small gap which needed filling because of the head angle (not necessary if glued on eyes front) so a tad of milliput was quickly kneaded and placed in the junction of the head and neck. I’ll own up to knowing practically zip as far as the uniform is concerned but I was lucky enough to find some nice photo’s of re-enactors having a parade and chose this uniform, Vallencia 1em. Those Napoleonic Spaniards were certainly a colourful bunch.

    • Thanks Burkhard, not as tricky as all that piping our playing about with. Not bad mini’s by Capitan, bit of a different style of sculpting but they paint up pretty well.

It's great to read what you think so please leave a comment
